McKinney claims 5,000 Kartina victims executed

I call-on McKinney to provide evidence of this atrocity. Until evidence or sworn testimony is provided, I'm putting this under the "more fear mongering" category.

Palin: A Perfect Train Wreck

I have to say it is pure joy to watch Sarah Palin’s political career peak and turn to dust in a matter of weeks. It’s actually hard to believe just 27 days ago Sarah Palin stepped on stage at the Republican National Convention and tickled the GOP’s balls. Holy shit, were they excited. It was almost like Jesus had come back in hot housewife form. And to be honest, they should have been excited because they finally had someone on their ticket who was alive.

But those days are over. Sarah Palin was awesome when nobody knew anything about her, but now she is a horrifying prospect. The blame obviously lays at John McCain’s feet for not vetting her and allowing the Christian Right to force a pathetic VP on him. The lack of vetting led to a couple of amazing weeks of information.

First we learned she kills moose. That is, of course, awesome and would be really important if we were some sort of Donner Party stuck in the Alaskan wilderness. Unfortunately, we are a country and killing moose is tragically unimportant. We then learned many other things about Sarah.

She lied about saying “no, but no thanks” to Congress about the “Bridge to Nowhere.” She left the tiny city of Wasilla with an insanely large $22 million debt. She was raised in a gay hating, tongue speaking, witch-stopping church. She tried to ban books. She abused her power by firing town employees without reason. She attempted to have her ex-brother-in-law fired from his law enforcement position and then fired the guy who wouldn’t fire him. She is against abortion in cases of rape and incest. She was mayor when the police chief began charging rape victims for their rape kits. She lied about visiting Ireland. She did not own a passport until 2006. She did not leave the country until 2007. She thinks being near Russia makes her important. It's like an idiot buffet.

Bailout equals Aquisition

"Everything predicted by the enemies of banks, in the beginning, is now coming to pass. We are to be ruined now by the deluge of bank paper. It is cruel that such revolutions in private fortunes should be at the mercy of avaricious adventurers, who, instead of employing their capital, if any they have, in manufactures, commerce, and other useful pursuits, make it an instrument to burden all the interchanges of property with their swindling profits, profits which are the price of no useful industry of theirs."
-- Thomas Jefferson in a letter to Thomas Cooper, 1814.

The current proposal to bail out the failing financial institutions is just another step toward total control of the monetary system that is being funded by you the tax payer and orchestrated by the Government and the Federal Reserve (FED).

Most people assume the FED is an agency of the US Government and would be shocked to know the truth. The FED is a partnership between the Federal Government and a small cartel of privately owned banks. The same private banks that are now lining up to collect their piece of the 700 billion dollar bailout. This money, provided by the taxpayer, will be used to buy up the remaining competition to further consolidate the holdings of the banking cartel.

The end result of all this funding will be the total acquisition of wealth by the few at the expense of generations to come.

There is really only one upside to the crisis - people are starting to question what is really going on.

Some of the answers can be found in films like films like:-
"Freedom to Fascism", "Fiat Empire" and "The Money Masters".

Information is power so don't become the subject of this quote.

"What luck for rulers than men do not think" - Adolf Hitler.

How many countries major cities does infosys have presence?

Wants to know more, read no.

Infosys Technologies, India’s second-biggest software developer, said it plans to raise the share of its revenues from Europe to counter a slowdown in the US, the world’s biggest economy, which fetches it about 60 per cent of its sales.

Infosys, which earned 28 per cent of its revenues from the European Union in the year ended March 31, 2008, plans to expand its sales and marketing offices and hire more people in Europe. The Bangalore-based company will also post more employees at customer sites in Europe seeking to win more orders and eventually shift a part of the work to India.

“Europe had been slow in terms of adopting offshoring, where as the US is a much advanced market. Now slowly Europe is opening up. It is a great market; especially the UK is a big market for us. But we have some additional concerns like language, and others which we have to handle. We need to have front-end there,” V Balakrishnan, chief financial officer of the company told shareholders.

Infosys has a workforce of over 91,000 employees from 70 nationalities working in over 90 countries. During 2007-08, the company recruited a record 33,177 people against its projected hiring plans for 25,000. The software developer is seriously looking at the new kind of Visa which is in the process of getting approved. Under this, people from countries outside of Europe can go on a short-term work to European countries.

Unlike the US, Infosys does not have good front-end capabilities in most of the European countries except in the UK and certain parts of Eastern Europe.

European market which is dominated by diverse language speaking countries is a concern for most of the offshore IT services companies. Besides, the offshoring norms in most European nations differ from country to country due to tight regulatory norms on data security. “Markets are rapidly globalising with the reduction of barriers to trade. We are encouraged by the European Union’s move to open up their market to the movement of natural persons by creating new visa types that will enable the freer flow of top talent,” said N R Narayana Murthy, chairman and chief mentor of Infosys Technologies.

It is understood that the draft for the new visa types has already been proposed, and it may take one to two years till it is approved. As a part of its initiatives to create a diverse workforce of multi-cultural, multi-ethinic origin, Infosys has started hiring students from universities all across the world.

The first batch of graduates from the UK have already been trained and inducted by the company during the last fiscal year. The company is now examining the possibilities of expanding this programme to many more countries, according to Murthy.

Murthy said, “As corporations grow and globalise, I am convinced that the greatest challenge they will face will be the creation of a diverse workforce.”

For fiscal 2008, Infosys has rewarded its shareholders with a special dividend of Rs 20 per share (400 per cent on Rs 5 per share) for crossing $1 billion in net income under the US accounting practice.

9/11 - A moment of silence

Once again, President Bush will lead a moment of silence on the South Lawn of the White House to remember the nearly 3,000 people who died on Sept. 11, 2001 when terrorists crashed hijacked airplanes into the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon and a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Afterward he was to head to the Pentagon to dedicate a memorial that has 184 benches over small reflecting pools representing each life lost when American Airlines Flight 77 flew into the symbol of U.S. military might on that clear and sunny September morning.

The moment of silence at the White House on Thursday will occur at 8:46 a.m. — the exact time in 2001 that terrorists slammed the first of two jetliners into the World Trade Center. The Pentagon was struck about an hour later. Joining the president will be first lady Laura Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife, Lynne, members of Congress, Cabinet members, military officials and about 3,000 White House employees and guests.

The Pentagon ceremony will include a wreath laying, music and a reading of the names of the 184 who died on the plane and inside the building.

"The president thinks about 9/11 every single day when he wakes up and before he goes to bed," White House press secretary Dana Perino said Wednesday. "This is what he's concerned about. He's always been concerned about another attack on our country. Thankfully, we haven't had one."

Shortly before 9 a.m., families of 9/11 victims will descend into Ground Zero using the construction ramp on the south side of the 16-acre site before returning to street level.

Barack Obama and John McCain, the Democratic and Republican presidential nominees, respectively, will appear together at ground zero in New York on Thursday to honor the memory of those who died. The campaigns agreed to halt television advertising critical of each other for the day.

Bush announced this week that he was sending a Marine battalion to Afghanistan in November to replace two that are scheduled to leave and an Army brigade there by January. U.S. commanders in Afghanistan say they need another 10,000 troops — about three times as many as they will receive this winter under the troop deployment plan Bush announced. The commanders also urge more nonmilitary aid and say the Afghan government must perform better.

The Pentagon Memorial was built at a cost of $22 million on a 1.9 acre parcel of land adjacent to the Pentagon and within view of the crash site.

Centre back pairing show Foxes the way

Long Eaton United 0 Loughborough Foxes 4

LOUGHBOROUGH Foxes began their FA Cup campaign with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Long Eaton United.

Never really looking under pressure, the Foxes centre backs gave them the advantage, with both Anna Wright and Hannah Kershaw getting on the score sheet with close range finishes after Long Eaton failed to deal with corners.

Kristie Pearman was able to extend the lead with a superb free kick, and the Foxes went into the break with a three-goal advantage.

The only down-side of the first half was an injury to goalkeeper Nic Dodd, who bravely continued with a heavily strapped ankle before being forced off in the second half.

Rarely having to raise their performance to fifth gear, the Foxes defence looked comfortable in playing the ball around, creating some lovely passing moves.

Full backs Sarah Larnder and Kristie Pearman were enjoying lots of time on the ball in possession, and Jo Welford showed her adaptability by replacing the stricken Dodd in goal for the final 20 minutes.

Row Davies in the midfield looked dangerous running at the full back on the right, and was unlucky not to get on the score sheet, but was withdrawn as a precaution midway through.

Despite repeatedly pressing, Loughborough Foxes only increased their winning margin by one goal in the second half, with a driven cross by Kershaw being inadvertently turned in by a despairing defensive lunge, but the result had long since been decided.

Foxes will now face Mansfield Town LFC in the first round proper on Sunday September 28.

Charges in 2006 death of 'Freedom Writers' actor

Armand Jones, 18, walked into a robbery at a Denny's restaurant after celebrating the wrap of the movie at an Anaheim nightclub on March 16, 2006. The defendants, Damon Hill, 24, and Jarrell Kelly, 20, are accused of robbing two of Jones' friends at gunpoint in the restaurant restroom, police said. Jones entered the restroom and was robbed of his jewelry. He chased the robbers into the parking lot, where he was fatally shot in the chest, police said. Jones played the character Grant Rice in "Freedom Writers," which starred Hilary Swank and was based on a true story of a teacher who helps her at-risk Long Beach students learn tolerance. A second victim, Ronnell Spencer, who had also been with Jones, was shot in the head but survived. Hill and Kelly are charged with one felony count each of murder and attempted murder, three felony counts of second-degree robbery and several sentencing enhancements for committing the crimes in connection with a street gang. If convicted, Hill and Kelly could each face a maximum sentence of life without the possibility of parole. An arraignment date has not been set. Both men are in state prison serving three-year terms on unrelated robbery charges. Police Sgt. Tim Schmidt said detectives found additional victims who led investigators to charge Hill and Kelly. Schmidt said there could be additional suspects in the killing. ___ Information from: The Orange County Register, http://www.ocregister.com
